I hate to work out… I am going to tell you that now! Not even when I was on Nutrisystem did I work out? However, when I belonged to the YMCA, I tried a few Zumba classes many moons ago. Now, that is NOT an exercise class; it’s a dance class! If you have never heard of or don’t know exactly what Zumba is, the best way to describe it is in Latin music, set to a very fast and upbeat tempo.
Susan, a friend of mine who happens to be a Zumba instructor, gave me her thoughts on Zumba:
There are so many health & physical benefits of Zumba! My number one benefit is just plain fun. I am a fitness enthusiast who has always loved exercise! I have taught just about every fitness program over the past 38 years, but nothing I have had so much passion for other than Zumba Fitness! It is a cardiovascular exercise that works out all the major muscle groups, burns fat, and increases strength & flexibility. You can burn 500-800 calories a class while laughing and having the time of your life! It becomes very social, and friendships are made. It is a party atmosphere, so why not party yourself into shape?
She makes it look so easy, though. A class can be intimidating if you have never been, but you just have to move at your own pace, and eventually, you will pick up the moves. With summer winding down and school starting, I will have more time to take a class or two and whip my body into shape!
I received several pieces of clothes from Zumba Fitness to try out, just in time for my classes, too. After trying all the pieces on, I realized that they do run small unless you like the extra-tight fit. I did, however, feel a little sexy in some of the pieces. My favorite piece is the skort, though.
Here are the pieces in the Zumba fitness line that I received:
Flash Skort: I liked the black color with the baby blue trim. The front looks like a skirt, but they are shorts. The large elastic band on the top says, “Join The Party.” These were comfortable to wear, but they did ride up a bit and show more of my thighs than I care to.
Cosmic Blast Racerback: This is pictured above with the blue Zumba on the back. Each shirt’s design is spray painted individually, which means that each shirt is as unique as its owner. The tank has grey specks on it, which give it a sparkle.
Galaxy V-Bra Top: I received this in a size smaller than what I needed, so the girls were extra snug. Be glad I didn’t show you that picture! I did like the blue band on the bottom of the bra, which also matched the skorts.
Let Loose Racerback (pictured below): I really liked the fit of this, as it flared out at the bottom and was not snug. The back (pictured above) features a yellow elastic band that says, “Feel the Music.”
