So far this December, it has been pretty mild here in Cincinnati. That is, as of yesterday. It was in the mid-60s, but today it’s in the 30s! Brrrr. With the cold weather moving in, I needed a new jacket. When I saw the Hooded Wool Toggle Coat, I knew that was what I wanted. This jacket from Chadwicks of Boston has patch pockets, a removable hood, and a zip front with toggle buttons. I like the toggle buttons; they make the jacket stand out. This coat is made of a wool/polyester blend and it is dry clean only, that is really the only downside, not being able to machine wash.

I went with a size larger than I normally wear as I wanted to make sure that it fit over my bulky sweaters, and it fits great! The color is a bit lighter than pictured, but I really like the neutral tone. Bring on the cold!

I also received a pair of the Malia Slim Leg Jeans By Jag in the color Dark Shadow. I hate trying on jeans, I really do. So when these arrived, I was all prepared for them to be too long or not fit in the waist or even worse… give me a muffin top! I did order these in a size larger than I needed and boy was I surprised how well they fit.

This shape-enhancing stretch denim offers a wide waistband with a faux fly. I normally wouldn’t even try a slim style, but I wanted a pair of jeans that I could tuck into my boots. Once I tried them on, I really liked how they fit….. not too long, sit on my hips, so no peep shows when I bend over, and no muffin top! The only downside is that these jeans have a powerful chemical smell. I hope the more I wash them, the more it will dissipate. I am so glad I didn’t have to spend time trying on jeans at the store!
