I just came across Superior Swedish Clogs last week, and I already have them on my feet, ready to review! Superior Clogs is the largest online retailer of Troentorp clogs. These clogs are designed to have an orthopedically fit, are made of long-lasting alder wood, and are made exclusively by Troentorp-Bastad Toffel, Scandinavia’s leading clog manufacturer.
What’s so special about a Troentorp clog? It’s the construction! In 1907, Troentorp Toffel concluded that the most comfortable shoes provided arch support to the wearer and the proper heel height, providing a standing knee position that flexes slightly rather than locks forward. His intuitive sense of the orthotics necessary for a well-fitting shoe made Troentorp clogs immediately popular. And since each pair of Troentorp clogs is handmade, each pair is unique.

Troentorp Swedish Clogs
I received a pair of navy Mary Jane Troentorp clogs, the newest in the Troentorp lineup. While I had clogs, I was concerned that the leather would be very stiff and that I would need time to “break them in. “Boy, was I wrong! They have a closed toe on a classic clog with an adjustable strap on the outside of the leather. Once I slipped them on, I loved how they fit; they were nice and comfortable. I knew there was not going to be an adjustment period.
The cowhide leather is wet-lasted before being nailed to the moisture-absorbing alder wood to give the clogs their characteristic comfort and look. Troentorp Swedish Clogs have a naturally finished alder wood footbed and a 1″ heat-bonded polyurethane sole with non-skid treads for maximum stability and comfort.
I love the way they look and feel! The heel is not too high, so I don’t fear twisting my ankle—yes, that is a problem with this gal. The sole is not so hard that I don’t have to switch it for another pair of shoes even after wearing it for a few hours. Then there is the color; I am glad I went with navy, which fits into my wardrobe. These do not disappoint!
Only a limited number of clog styles and sizes are made at once. If you see something you like and hesitate to order, it could disappear before you can!
